HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Just a few days ago it was 2011, but lo and behold it is 2012! To God be the glory for the things He has done!

Despite the joys of a New Year, a glance into 2011 is unavoidable. Looking back, one sees the grace, the goodness, the love and the glories of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ standing as pillars of 2011. 2011 has been a glorious year bundled with events and happenings that we shall live to tell and never forget. Personally, I rejoice in the Lord for seeing my family, the church family and I through the year amidst many achievements, successes and a milliard of failures. God’s purposes have indeed been attained!

Exist 2011 and enter 2012! A clean sheet hangs before us today awaiting our scribbling.  One way or the other, we are all preparing and planning to color it with our lives. For as long as I can remember, every New Year is forever crowded with resolutions. We all plan to begin well with the hope of ending well. Unfortunately, the majority of us always finish very badly. This year, if we can engrave upon your hearts Solomon’s proverb “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps” (Prov 16:9) you will do well as the year unfolds. For that reason, among your many resolutions for 2012 please do this one thing; “Commit all your works to the Lord…” (Prov 16:3). If you are to do your very best in all that you intend to, aim at the glory of God.

Think with me; what have you put on scheduled for yourself this year, is it advancing your education, doing business better, getting married, or serving the Lord? One person I know has planned to celebrate her fortieth birthday in France and Italy. In all, forget not the Lord and His glory. Let not your plans and resolutions divert you from the Lord, His church and His people. No matter how much success you will find in 2012, don’t fall away. Remain anchored in the Faith of Our Lord Jesus Christ; have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
